Emilio Gordoa, Sabine Vogel and myself share an interest in improvising “as weather”: playing with and as the sounds of the environment. Based between Cuernavaca, Mexico City, Boorloo, Potsdam, Paretz and Berlin, we're quite geographically displaced as a trio (and sometimes as people).
Our project “Tracing presence on land” is a composition or language emerging out of us sharing space out-doors in the places we were all born, highlighting the way our musicking holds the stories and echoes of the places we are (in).
Their project involves short residencies each in Paretz, Fünfseenland, Meelup (Dunsborough) and Yagan mia (Wireless Hill, Boorloo/Perth), followed by a concert tour of Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand including performances at the Audible Edge Festival of Exploratory Music, COMA, the Audio Foundation and Pyramid Club.
